  • The Essex Cooperative Society Board of Directors and Essex Co-op manager, Jack Denehy, who offered the location and donated materials.
  • DayDream Designs, chosen to design, construct and install the sign.
  • The Topsfield Chamber of Commerce, the Topsfield Fair/Essex Agricultural Society, Sovereign Bank and  Beverly National Bank, all of which made generous contributions.
  • The Park and Cemetery Commissioners and Trustees of Endowed Funds who authorized use of the Gould Park Trust Fund.
  • Maria Wheeler who designed the landscaping and Jason Wheeler who implemented the design as a Eagle Scout project.

The Topsfield Main Street Foundation, in cooperation with the Highway Department, neighbors and many Topsfield organizations, has been working to improve the frontage along South Main Street from Route 1 to Maple Street. A central new feature is a walking path to address safety concerns for all pedestrians. A bench, garden and historic marker will be installed in the spring of 2011. The Towne Family Association is a partner in this project.

On Saturday, November 7, 2009 the Veterans Memorial Green on Topsfield's Common was dedicated. Main Street and the Park and Cemetery Department honor our veterans with this project that bring together in one place the monuments commemorating Topsfield's veterans' service to our country. In addition a monument honoring Lt. Lawson, Topsfield resident, who lost his life in Vietnam was dedicated and the "Great Wars" memorial was rededicated. New landscaping and repositioned benches make the Green a peaceful oasis in the heart of our town.
